Reading Bomberna Faller Fanzine should be possible from any device and without giving away any sort of user information. This is done by sticking with simple HTML/CSS. No scripts, cookies or social media integrations. Nothing on this site is pre-built, it's all manually written by me in Notepad++, designed to load fast on all hardware configurations.
No social media integration
Social media is founded on the exploitation of its users. Surveillance and data harvesting is at its very core and by using these services you are, without fail, the product. I have personal accounts on a select few of the platforms, sure, but I will never let them have a say in what Bomberna Faller Fanzine publishes or give them any insight on who my readers are. Any links leading to these sites (some bands only have social media profiles for contact) will be clearly labeled.
No cookies
Sites with no login or user settings have no reason to use cookies other than to collect information and track the user. Bomberna Faller Fanzine refuses to contribute to fingerprinting or data harvesting of any sort and therefore has no need for any cookies.
No trackers
Bomberna Faller Fanzine doesn't care where you came from or where you're going afterwards. There's no talking to other sites, no breadcrumbs to follow.
No ads
Since I host Bomberna Faller Fanzine on Neoicites there's no ads being served. No bullshit content is being pushed on the visitor, eating through various data plans.
No scripts
It's possible to use JavaScript on Neocities, but that would interfere with my vision to keep the site 100% working for all types of users.
Hosting on Neocities means a static HTML site
The main restriction of having a site on Neocities is that everything is built around static webpages. If I upload a review, interview or article (in the form of a plain .html file) I also have to update the index page to reflect the new content. Naturally, this means there's no live filtering or built in search functions - the reader have to manually search for keywords on the index page (ctrl+f on PC, "Find on page" on mobile).
